You Can Move the Tennessee Agent Seat and Keep Everything Else You Bought
Get registered agent representation in Tennessee for $99 annually. The price covers the registered office address, same-day scanning of legal documents, and state-deadline alerts.
Full disclosure at the top. Tennessee Registered Agent.co sells the service being recommended here, at $99 a year, so read this as an argument rather than an appraisal. Rocket Lawyer's pricing comes from what Rocket Lawyer publishes, recorded in July 2026.
They Quote One Price and Keep It
Registered agent service at Rocket Lawyer costs $125 annually, and that same figure applies whichever membership tier you happen to be on. No starter rate that expires, no bundle-dependent discount, no different number on a different page. That kind of consistency is genuinely uncommon in this market and we would rather acknowledge it than pretend the comparison is dramatic.
The membership around it is also a real thing. Document templates, contract review, attorney consultations at member pricing. Businesses that use those several times a year are getting value that has nothing to do with registered agent service at all.
Two Purchases That Come Apart Cleanly
Here is what most people in this situation do not realize. Moving your registered agent is a filing with the state of Tennessee. It has no effect whatsoever on a Rocket Lawyer membership, and cancelling that membership is not a step in the process.
So the question is not whether to leave Rocket Lawyer. It is narrower and easier: are you using the legal platform?
- Yes, regularly. Keep it. Keep the agent line with it too if you like the single-vendor arrangement, or move just the agent seat and keep the templates. Both work.
- Not really. Then the platform is carrying a $125 agent line for you and the templates are decoration. The $26 a year is the small part of that. The larger part is that you are paying a subscription to hold one address.
The Reason Reliability Is the Whole Product Here
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereTennessee's annual report deadline is not where people expect it to be, and this is where a watched address earns its keep.
Tennessee pins the deadline to your accounting year rather than your formation date: four months past the close of the books, arriving on that month's first day. A December year end lands on April 1, and the window opens January 1. Change your fiscal year end and the deadline travels with it. Never record a fiscal year with the state at all and the Division assumes December on your behalf, which puts you on April 1 without anyone telling you so.
That is a deadline set by your accountant's calendar, and the state's reminders and warnings about it go to one place: the registered agent address on your record. If nothing is being read at that address promptly, the calendar quirk stops being a quirk and starts being a problem.
Which is what we actually sell. Not a document library. A Tennessee address where somebody opens the envelope the day it lands.

The customary honesty note on our own row: BetterLegal's published annual figure is $90, beneath ours, so $99 is one of the low Tennessee rates rather than the low one.
Moving the Seat, Not the Subscription
It is form SS-4534, a $20 fee, and the Tennessee Secretary of State's business division. Appoint the incoming agent before the form goes in, because your record keeps naming the old one until the state processes the change, and an uncovered day is a day a summons can be validly served on somebody who has stopped watching for it. The complete procedure is on our change of agent page.
Our End of the Deal
A Tennessee address of ours on the public file rather than yours. Service of process and state mail imaged the day it lands, with an alert. Notice as your report window opens and again before the deadline. Permanent portal storage. A renewal that matches the invoice you first paid.
Worth keeping in view while you decide: Tennessee's LLC report is $50 per member with a $300 minimum, so the state's share of your yearly compliance cost is already three times what we charge and it is not up for negotiation. The agent line is the one you get to set.
