Tennessee Fixes Most of Your Compliance Bill. The Agent Line Is What Is Left.

Get registered agent representation in Tennessee for $99 annually. The price covers the registered office address, same-day scanning of legal documents, and state-deadline alerts.

Plain disclosure, since this page is going to ask you to trust its numbers. Tennessee Registered Agent.co holds agent appointments in this state for $99 annually, and we would obviously prefer you picked us. LegalZoom's price below is theirs, taken from what they publish and verified in July 2026.

Twenty Years of Being the Default

LegalZoom is the most recognized brand in this business and has been for twenty years. That recognition is not empty. It means a support number that gets answered, a catalog broad enough to cover most filings a small company will ever need, and the comfort of picking a vendor nobody will second-guess you for picking.

Some owners value not having to research a decision. That is a legitimate thing to spend money on, and it is the thing LegalZoom is actually selling.

$249, and the Renewal Handles Itself

Their registered agent service runs $249 a year. Our July 2026 look found no first-year discount underneath it, which at least makes the number honest and stable. It auto-renews, so the second year happens on its own.

Stable and automatic are good qualities in a price. They are not the same as a competitive one.

Where the Variable Actually Sits

This is the piece worth understanding about Tennessee specifically.

The state prices the LLC annual report at $50 per member, but the minimum charge is $300 and that minimum covers everyone with six members or fewer. Six times fifty is three hundred exactly, which is why the floor and the typical bill are the same number. For the overwhelming majority of Tennessee LLCs, the report is therefore effectively fixed. It does not care about revenue, profit, or how the year went. It is $300 and it will be $300 again next year.

Which means the compliance side of your budget has almost nothing in it that responds to shopping around. Two lines, one fixed by statute and one set by whoever you hired:

Yearly, typical Tennessee LLC Amount Who decides it
Annual report, six members or fewer $300 The legislature
Registered agent, LegalZoom $249 LegalZoom
Registered agent, us $99 Us, and it has not moved

A $150 annual difference on the only adjustable line is a larger share of the total than it first appears. Over five years it is $750, on a service where the statutory duties are identical no matter who performs them.

Our own limit, stated so it does not have to be discovered: someone publishes less than we do. BetterLegal's listing is $90. Read our $99 as sitting near the bottom of Tennessee's published range rather than on the bottom of it.

What the Extra $150 Does Not Change

Tennessee's expectations of a registered agent are short and they do not scale with price. A street address inside the state, staffed during ordinary business hours. Documents accepted when a process server arrives. Notices from the Secretary of State received and passed to you. A $249 agent owes exactly that and nothing more. A $99 agent owes the same list.

Where providers do differ is speed. A summons that sits somewhere for four days has burned four days of a response window that began running at delivery, not on the day you happened to learn about it. Anything served on our Tennessee office is imaged, posted, and emailed to you before that same working day is over.

And If You Want to Move the Appointment

It takes one form. SS-4534 puts a new name in the agent slot on your Tennessee record for a $20 state fee, filed with the business unit at the Secretary of State. Appoint first and file second, so your record hands off from one covered agent to another without a bare day in between. The change of agent page has the walkthrough, and customers get the exact wording to enter.

Line by Line, the Ninety-Nine

  • A Tennessee street address standing in the spot on your filings where yours would go
  • Everything served on us imaged and sent onward the same working day
  • Alerts as your report window opens and again before it closes
  • Every document we have received for you, stored and searchable
  • Non-legal mail forwarded for a published $15 a piece, not quoted on request
  • One price, one product, and a renewal notice that matches the first invoice

Brand recognition is worth something. Whether it is worth $150 a year, every year, for a job Tennessee defines in two sentences, is the only question this page is really asking.
